PC-based oscilloscope (PCO)

Oscilloscope software running in Windows that uses the computer's sound card as a cheap ADC
Although most people think of an oscilloscope as a self-contained instrument in a box, a new type of "oscilloscope" is emerging that consists of a specialized signal acquisition board (which can be an external USB or Parallel port device, or an internal add-on PCI or ISA card). The hardware itself usually consists of an electrical interface providing insulation and automatic gain controls, several hi-speed analogue-to-digital converters and some buffer memory, or even on-board DSPs. Depending on the exact hardware configuration, the hardware could be best described as a digitizer, a data logger or as a part of a specialized automatic control system.

WEBAROO (OFFLINE BROWSER)

Want to See your Favorite Websites OFFLINE? Or Want Carry your Favorite Websites in a pen drive? Then your solution is “WEBAROO”.
I always try this amazing browser to reduce my Cybercafé/Internet Bill. All websites which I always need & contains more data such as Text; that takes more time to read So I install this browser on my pendrive, whenever I go to Cybercafé only updation is required &I get all my favorite websites updated in my pen drive for any time reading.

What is Webaroo?
Webaroo is a free software service that gives users the power to search and browse the web ~ anywhere, anytime, without a connection. It is a new kind of index/search tool that brings substantial and previously unavailable exposure to websites. Webaroo's advanced technology enables users to search web content offline on their laptop, PDA or smart phones.
Webaroo servers crawl the web, analyze web pages and automatically select the subset of pages with the greatest diversity and quality in the least storage size. These pages are then packaged into topic-specific "web packs" that can be downloaded by users onto their devices. Once downloaded, users can search and browse that content offline.
The Webaroo crawler (user-agent: WebarooBot) periodically crawls the web. It does not access any website more than once every few seconds. It does not make more than one connection per IP address.

With Webaroo you can:-
•Store your web content (web packs and web sites) on your laptop or mobile device.
•Search or browse the content on your laptop or mobile device like you would search online.
•Update your laptop content and sync your mobile device to access the latest web content on the go.
Webaroo uses automated technology to select the subset of pages that maximize Content Density i.e. the most content value in the least storage size. Webaroo determines the content value based on the diversity and quality of the pages. The more diverse the set of pages, the more queries it is likely to be able to answer. The higher the quality of pages, the more likely they are to contain meaningful information for the user.

Technology:-
Webaroo Technology:-
Webaroo has assembled a world-class team of computer scientists and engineers to develop the best possible offline web technology. There are two critical components at the core of Webaroo technology. One is a system designed to maximize Content Density (tm). The other is our Smart Caching (tm) technology.
Content Density:-
Webaroo servers crawl the web, analyze the web pages and select the subset of pages that maximize Content Density i.e. the most content value in the least storage size. Webaroo determines the content value based on the diversity and quality of the pages. The more diverse the set of pages, the more queries it is likely to be able to answer. The more high quality the pages, the more likely they are to contain meaningful information for the user.
Take an analogy from the print world. If there was only one book you had to take on a road-trip, that could answer almost any query you may have, it would most likely be the encyclopedia. In other words, the encyclopedia has high content density.
The content density software can be run on the whole web, or on parts of the web (say, the sports web). The selected subset of pages is packaged into a “web pack”. A web pack is, quite simply, a collection of web pages, along with other meta-data that enables caching, search, updates and more.
Smart Caching:-
Webaroo users have client software installed on their laptops or mobile devices. The Webaroo client is smart about caching and updating the content on its local storage. Users can download selected web packs from Webaroo servers. Users can also download favorite web sites. Users can search this content anytime, anywhere, without a web connection.
When the user connects the mobile device to the Internet, the client checks with the server to see if there are any available updates. Different web packs may update at different frequencies depending on the nature of content (e.g. news changes more frequently than, say, restaurant reviews). These updates may be incremental i.e. broken into smaller chunks and downloaded over a period of time. The updates are also interruptible i.e. if the user disconnects in a hurry and later re-connects, the update will continue from where it left off.

How it Works:-
1. Webaroo servers scour the web, analyze web pages, and automatically select the subset of pages with the most content value in the least storage size. These pages are then assembled into topic-specific “web packs”.
2. You can download these web packs onto your laptop or mobile device. Additionally, you can also download pages from your favorite web sites.
3. Once you download web packs or web sites onto your mobile device, you can search them anytime, anywhere, without a connection.
4. When you re-connect, your laptop may receive fresh content updates from the server.
5. By extracting and caching the best subset of the web, Webaroo makes the web portable. It puts the best of the web content in your pocket and gives you the freedom to use the web offline.

( YOU CAN ALSO STORE IT IN PENDRIVE & SEE YOUR FAVOURITE WEB SITES ANYWARE.THEN JUST DOWNLOAD IT & TRY)

Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) - "Cryptography"

Pretty Good Privacy or PGP is one such cryptography system that uses the public-private key pair to encrypt & decrypt data securely.

Encryption:-
In first step, PGP compresses the plaintext data that has to be encrypted using a predefined compression algorithm.
Next, PGP creates a random single-use encryption key known as the session key. Which is randomly generated & is used to encrypt the plaintext data into ciphertext data.
Finally, the session key generated in step 2 is encrypted using the recipient’s public key. Once this is done, PGP then sends this encrypted session key & the ciphertext data to the recipient.

Decryption:-
First of all, PGP at the receiver’s end uses the private key of the recipient to retrieve the encrypted session key.
This retrieved session key is then used to decrypt the encrypted ciphertext data sent by the source.
Finally, this retrieved compressed plaintext data is uncompressed & the original plaintext data is obtained.

Popular PGP Tools:-

Increase Your Computers Partition Size After Installing Operating System

Increase Your Computers Partition Size After Installing Operating System

If you already assigned some GB space to your “C” drive at the time of installing OS; & now your system Pop ups message about “Low disk space in C drive” & you want to increase your C drive disk space, then what to do?
You would need to resize all partitions of your hard drive in order to increase the space on C drive.
Backup your data first.
There are two ways to resize.
First, you can format the hard drive & recreate the necessary partitions according to the size you prefer. Then reload Windows & all the necessary applications.
The second way is to use a partition resizing tool or manager.
A free manager called EASEUS Partition Manager’ can be used to resize the partitions directly from Windows.
You won’t need to format the hard drive or reinstall your applications. But you would definitely need to backup your data just in case of any data loss during the procedure.
Do not switch off, reset or power off your computer during resizing (Pray for no power cuts).
You can also do the same with paid software called ‘Partition Magic’.

DJ Da World- Wants to become DJ ?

Convert Cassettes To CDs Or Mp3 Files

You first need a high-quality cassette player or deck with a line-out.
Then you need 3.5mm jack-3.5mm Jack (EP-EP) wire. Plug it to Tape at ‘aux’ output, and another end to computer.
If it just has a mic in, the quality will be lower.
You then use any recording & editing software such as ‘Audacity ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) ’, or check in www.hitsqauad.com for recording software.
This is one option but it takes very long, indeed, and the quality won’t be great!
A better option is to buy a dedicated hardware product that does this. Such as the Philips Rip-All, which gives one-touch conversion of cassettes, CD & FM into Mp3, and costs under Rs 5k.

Zone Alarm: The Best Free Firewall

A good Antivirus software is only half a defense. To ensure complete security of your PC, firewalls are also a must.

For the best protection, get this firewall that's far superior to XP's Internet Connection Firewall, and keeps you safe from Trojan horses and other dangers.
The Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) that ships with XP has one very serious deficiency: it can't monitor and block outbound traffic from your PC to the Internet. Many Trojan horses do their damage by installing themselves on your system and then allowing others to take control of your PC, or using your PC to attack web sites, servers, and other computers. The ICF won't offer you protection against these types of Trojans; it won't be able to tell when a Trojan is making an outbound connection, so the Trojan will be able to do its damage without your knowledge.
Other firewalls, however, will offer that protection. The best of them is Zone Alarm ( http://www.zonealarm.com ). There are three versions of the program, a free version and two for-pay versions with differing levels of protection. The free version offers excellent protection against inbound threats as well as against Trojans. It also tells you whenever someone is probing your computer for security holes and gives information about the prober, often including his IP address, and the nature of the probe.
